The Dallas Junior Hockey Association and the Texas Tornado Junior A program are pleased to announce the transition of the Texas Tornado Youth Hockey Organization into DJHA beginning in the 2012-2013 season. With this move, DJHA will now consist of the Dallas Penguins (the premier Tier II organization in Texas) and the Texas Jr. Tornado (The exclusive Texas representative in the North American Prospects Hockey League). This also brings an affiliation between DJHA and the Texas Tornado Junior team.
DJHA will continue its relationship with the Dallas Stars Elite Hockey Club for play within the Super Series and the Tier I Elite League.
The DJHA/Tornado/Stars Elite Family will provide opportunities for players to compete at the highest levels available in the United States and will offer the coaching, training, development, and exposure needed to help players advance to Junior Hockey.
“We are excited about the partnership with DJHA and this is a step towards building the Tornado brand locally. DJHA and the Stars Elite have developed winning programs and have proven they can attract some of the best youth coaches and players. We want to work with youth hockey, focusing on quality player development while building the Tornado brand. This partnership will ensure this is achieved. This relationship is important for two key reasons. First, we want to bring the top players together to strengthen high level hockey in the North Texas region. Second, we want to have the best players in the Dallas area one day playing for the Tornado Junior A team. We see this as a positive step towards achieving both of those objectives.” stated Texas Tornado President Gary Gelinas.
More information including coaching announcements will be provided at our General Membership Meeting 6:30 tonight, 3/26 at DPSC McKinney.
