65 minutes into the State Championship final game, the U14 Penguins broke through for the game winning goal scored by Keegan O'Donoghue at the 7:09 minute mark of the 2nd Overtime.

The penguins trailed 2-0 before Hank Schurig scored a power play goal at 14:39 of the second period. From that point on the penguins frantically attempted to score the tying goal controlling the action in the HCD zone for the majority of the 3rd period. Finally at the 11:43 mark of the 3rd, Connor Nehl's broke free and fired a shot from the right circle, the HCD goalie was able to get a pad on it, but Jacob Plattner was crashing the net and buried the rebound to tie the game.

The Penguins continued to out play HCD, outshooting them 21 -3 thru the third period and overtimes before the game winning shot was made.
