Jeff is a dual citizen USA/Canada and played in the DFW Metroplex until he was 14 years old when he moved to Canada to play and later graduate from Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. During his 5 years at Notre Dame, Jeff played Bantam AA, Midget AAA, and Junior A for the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Following high school graduation from Notre Dame, Jeff continued his career with the Junior A Hounds while attending the University of Regina. He played the following season with the Burlington Cougars of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League.

Jeff is entering his 8th season as Head Coach of the Dallas Stars Elite 15O team in the 2024 -2025 season. During his time with the Stars Elite, he has taken his team to the Tier 1 Elite League Playoffs Final 4, a Rocky Mountain District Final in 2018, back-to-back Tier 1 Invitational Champions in 2020 and 2021 as well as back-to-back Rocky Mountain District Champions in 2021 and 2022 and appearances at USA Hockey Nationals in 2021 and Bronze Medalists in 2022 losing in the Semi-Finals to the eventual National Champions. In those 5 years at DSE Jeff has accumulated an overall record of 191-110-2.

Jeff is entering his 13th season as a Head Coach with the Dallas Penguins. In his previous 10 seasons he has had 9 State Championship Game appearances, 6 State Championship Titles (4 16U AA / 2 14U AA), 8 League Championships, several other tournament championships, 8 USA Hockey National Tournament appearances, 2 National Bronze Medals in 2014 and 2019 and a 16U Tier II National Championship Gold Medal in 2017 for the first time in Dallas Penguins history with an overall record of 57-7-1. In those 13 years at DJHA Jeff has accumulated an overall record of 551-173-20.

In the last several years at the Dallas Stars Elite and DJHA, Jeff has moved on several players to the AHL, NCAA, USHL, WHL, NAHL as well as other junior leagues around North America.

Jeff has been teaching private lessons since 2006. Jeff received his USA Hockey Level 4 Coaching Certificate in 2006.

His goal is to create an enjoyable season of development as hockey players and as young men—creating better people by believing in our training, committing to each other and, above all else, implementing a team first approach.
