For the second consecutive season, the Dallas Penguins Mite Majors won the North Texas Hockey League Championship. With 4 players returning from last year, the Penguins welcomed 10 new players to the roster this season. The Penguins went undefeated in regular season play compiling a record of 20 and 0. They went 4 and 0 in the semi-finals earning a birth in the Championship best of 3 series against the Alliance Bulldogs. The Penguins took the series in 2 games outscoring their opponent 14-1. Coach Fletcher, Coach Otwell and Coach Ciak are extremely proud of all the boys this year. Our goalies Joshua Langford and Camden Pendleton made big saves all year long. They led the league in save % and GAA. Our defensemen, "The Unsung Hero's" comprised of Austin Fowler, Sohil Desai, Reid Shafer and Blaine Annen played unselfishly and were outstanding in protecting our net and defensive zone. They were one of our key factors for our success all year long. Our forwards, Will Otwell, Ian Struck, Philip Griebenow, Andrew Cimino, Noah Filo, Conner Schaefer, Michael Gildon and PJ Fletcher were the most potent offense in the NTXHL all season. Their skill, speed, vision and hard work resulted in victory after victory. The Penguins will wrap up their season the end of March having accepted an invitation to play in St. Louis for the Mite National Tournament.
The young Mites won the NTXHL Mite Division regular season in convincing fashion going 20-0. With a dominant league high GFA of 8.8 they averaged more than 2 goals per game more than their closest rival. The young guns posted the top four scorers in the League. The two Penguin goalies also dominated, combining for a stingy .75 GAA, giving up almost 2 per game less than the number two team. Nice job Penguins!
Over the weekend the DJHA Mite Majors went 5 and 0 in the Squirt Select bracket taking home the championship. The Penguins led the tournament with a 28 goals for and also led in goals against with 11. In addition they showed tremendous discipline in leading the tournament with the fewest penalties as well. The Penguins success was contributed by solid defense, and goaltending, as well as quick and effective passing. Congratulations to the Mite Majors.

Coach Fletcher's Mite Major team won in convincing fashion the Western Regional Silverstick Squirt B Division. Despite the difference in age and size, the Mite Major's prevailed by outscoring the other teams in a tournament high of 22 goals and allowing only 9 goals. They all played a very unselfish game passing the puck in convincing fashion and playing solid defense. In the Championship game, they peppered the opposing team with 29 shots while allowing only 7 shots against. All the coaches are very proud of this significant accomplishment. International Silverstick here we come. Way to go Penguins!!!
Coach Fletcher's Mite Major Penguins won the Texas Shootout for the 2nd year in a row. Backed by the strong goaltending of Joshua Langford and Camden Pendleton, the Penguins goalies only allowed 8 goals the whole tournament and combined for two shutouts. The young defenceman also helped by allowing minimal shots to the goal and played smart hockey. The forwards did an outstanding job backchecking and putting the puck into the net for a tournament high of 31 goals in 4 games. All the coaches were very proud of how all the players performed and executed. Once again, DJHA Penguin Mite Major hockey is off to a good start. Way to go Penguins.
