The DJHA Bantam Minor team won the Chicago Midwinter Classic Tournament over the weekend. The team went 5-0 and outscored their opponents 24-6. After beating the Naperville Sabres 3-1 and the Chicago Huskies 3-2 on Saturday, the team beat the Mission (Arizona) Ice 5-0 and the Lincoln Jr. Stars 10-2 on Sunday. On Monday, the championship game was a rematch between DJHA and the Chicago Huskies (who unsuccessfully protested their earlier loss to the Penguins). The Huskies went up early 1-0, but the Penguins stayed focused, took the lead and never looked back. The Penguins finished with a 3-1 victory to bring the championship banner back to Texas. Congratulations to the team and Brandon Siler, who was named MVP of the championship game.
