Dallas Penguins Tier II-U12 State Champions
The Penguins won the TAHA State Tier II-U12 Tournament in Dallas on February 10th and advance to play in the Rocky Mountain District Tournament on March 13-16th in Provo, Utah.
The Penguins went 4-0-0 during the State Tournament by scoring 20 goals and only giving up 6 goals while outshooting their opponents by a margin of 46 more shots (130 to 84). Playing with purpose in an attacking style of hockey at both ends of the ice, the Penguins were able to defeat the Houston Wild AA (5-4), Texas Attack 96 AAA (7-0) and Ice Jets 95 AA (6-2) in pool play. The top seeded Penguins faced the Ice Jets again in the Championship Game on Sunday morning winning by a score of 2-0 after a competitive, hard hitting contest.
The Penguins look forward to the challenge ahead as they prepare to face the State Champion teams from Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Utah advancing to the Rocky Mountain District Tournament in March. Go Pens!
