For over 40 years, Dallas Junior Hockey Association has celebrated tremendous success and takes pride in the legacy of excellence that is Dallas Penguins hockey. For the 2014-15 Season, we had 2 State Champions, 5 DSTHL Finalists, 3 DSTHL Champions and 3 Dallas Penguins Teams that advanced to the 2015 Toyota-USA Hockey Tier II National Championships! All three teams fared very well at Nationals, including two 3rd place finishes by our Bantam Major AA and Midget Major (U18) teams!

Congratulations to all of our Dallas Penguins Teams on another successful season!

The 2014-15 U18AA Penguins competed in the USA Hockey Nationals in Troy, Michigan. The post season proved as successful as the regular season. Ranked 5th in the Nation, the Texas State Champions were awarded the Bronze Medal going 5-1 and out scoring their opponents 24-13. Game 3 featured an explosive outburst as the boys beat the Connecticut State Champions Southern Connecticut Stars 7-1. Game 4 exhibited a marathon 3 overtime matchup vs. New Hampshire’s State Champion Nashua Panthers, and with only 34 seconds left in the third overtime the Penguins ended the madness to advance to the Semi-Finals.

The Dallas Penguins U16AA Team finished the regular season League play with a record of 17 – 1 – 2 and the regular season league championship. The boys went on to the State Playoffs and after defeating the Allen Americans 4-2 in the round robin, fell at the end of the State Championship game to those same Americans 1-0 in the second of two 10 minute overtimes. The team advanced to the Nationals tournament on the basis of their overall ranking of #38 in the country and played 3 hard fought games.

The Dallas Penguins 14U Bantam Major AA Team, coached by Ryan Pfeiffer, competed for the Tier 2 National Championship in Salt Lake City, UT – bringing home the Bronze Medal!  The team went undefeated in pool play scoring 18 goals and allowing none.  They were the only team to post 3 shutouts in pool play, taking down state champions from Georgia (5-0), Vermont (7-0) and Washington (6-0).  The Penguins advanced as the #1 seed in the NHL division to the quarterfinals on Sunday, March 30th.
